Redwood Family Care Network

At Redwood Family Care Network, our mission has always been to support people in living meaningful, self-directed lives while ensuring that the professionals who provide those supports have the tools, training, and guidance they need to succeed. That’s why we’re excited to announce our membership with the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP) and our commitment to integrating the newly revised 2026 NADSP Code of Ethics into our culture, training, and professional development programs.
For more than 25 years, the NADSP Code of Ethics has served as the profession’s guiding framework, helping Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) navigate complex situations while promoting dignity, choice, inclusion, and person-centered support. In 2026, NADSP released a revised Code of Ethics developed through a national collaboration involving direct support professionals, subject matter experts, people with lived disability experience, and other stakeholders.
The revised Code reflects the realities of today’s service environment, including greater emphasis on advocacy, belonging, cultural responsiveness, technology, professional accountability, and the evolving role of DSPs as highly skilled professionals. It reinforces the importance of supporting individuals as full members of their communities while honoring their rights, choices, and goals.
Joining NADSP represents an important step in Redwood’s ongoing commitment to workforce development and professional excellence. Direct Support Professionals are at the heart of everything we do. Their work extends far beyond caregiving. They’re teachers, advocates, coaches, mentors, and partners who help individuals achieve independence, pursue personal goals, build relationships, and engage fully in their communities.
As part of this initiative, Redwood will begin incorporating the 2026 NADSP Code of Ethics into onboarding, training, leadership development, and quality improvement efforts across our organization. By aligning our practices with nationally recognized standards, we continue to strengthen our commitment to person-centered services, professional accountability, and ethical decision-making.
The principles within the revised Code align closely with Redwood’s Core Values of People, Integrity, Innovation, Empowerment, and Continuous Improvement. Together, these values guide how we support individuals, collaborate with families, develop our workforce, and build inclusive communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Membership in NADSP also provides access to valuable professional development resources, credentialing opportunities, best practices, and a national network dedicated to elevating the direct support profession. Through this partnership, Redwood joins a growing movement committed to recognizing DSPs as essential professionals whose work transforms lives every day.
As we embrace the 2026 NADSP Code of Ethics, we reaffirm our commitment to ethical practice, person-centered support, and continuous growth as an organization. Most importantly, we reaffirm our commitment to the individuals we support—ensuring that every decision we make promotes dignity, choice, belonging, and the opportunity to live a meaningful life.
