Redwood partners with California Regional Centers to provide crisis prevention, crisis intervention, behavioral support, and stabilization services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and co-occurring challenges.
The California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is the state agency responsible for overseeing services and supports for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Working in partnership with California's network of regional centers, DDS helps ensure individuals have access to the resources they need to live safe, healthy, and meaningful lives while exercising choice and independence.
Redwood Family Care Network proudly partners with the California Department of Developmental Services and local regional centers to provide person-centered services that promote independence, community inclusion, health, and quality of life. Together, we develop individualized supports based on each person's unique goals, strengths, and needs, ensuring services are delivered with dignity, respect, and in alignment with California's Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) principles.
This partnership allows us to work collaboratively with individuals, families, service coordinators, and interdisciplinary teams to create opportunities for growth, meaningful relationships, employment, community participation, and lifelong success.
California's Regional Centers are nonprofit organizations that coordinate services and supports for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Contracted by the California Department of Developmental Services (DDS), each Regional Center serves a specific geographic area and works closely with individuals and families to identify needs, develop an Individual Program Plan (IPP), and connect people with community-based services that promote independence and inclusion.
Redwood Family Care Network works in close partnership with Regional Centers throughout California to deliver individualized, person-centered services that help people achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives. Together, we collaborate with individuals, families, service coordinators, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement supports that reflect each person's unique strengths, preferences, and aspirations.
Through ongoing communication, coordinated care planning, and a shared commitment to quality outcomes, we ensure services remain responsive to changing needs while promoting health, safety, independence, and meaningful participation in home and community life. Our partnership is built on a common goal: empowering every individual to live a life of choice, opportunity, and belonging.
The California Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD), part of the California Department of Social Services (CDSS), licenses and regulates residential care facilities to help ensure individuals receive safe, high-quality services in supportive environments. Through licensing, routine inspections, complaint investigations, and regulatory oversight, CCLD helps protect the health, safety, personal rights, and well-being of those receiving care.
Redwood Family Care Network partners closely with Community Care Licensing to maintain safe, compliant, and high-quality residential programs. We view licensing as a collaborative partner in continuous quality improvement, working proactively to meet and exceed regulatory standards while fostering environments where individuals can thrive.
Through ongoing communication, staff training, quality assurance, and a commitment to best practices, we strive to provide homes that are safe, person-centered, and focused on dignity, choice, and independence.
Redwood Family Care Network partners with the individual’s community based physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, nurse practitioners, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure individuals receive coordinated, person-centered care that supports both their physical and behavioral health. We recognize that navigating the healthcare and mental health systems can be complex, and our role is to help individuals and their support teams access the right services at the right time.
We believe the best outcomes are achieved through strong partnerships. By working collaboratively with medical providers, county behavioral health departments, community mental health agencies, regional centers, and other community partners, we help ensure individuals receive coordinated, comprehensive care that promotes stability, wellness, independence, and an improved quality of life.

Many of Redwood Family Care Network's services are funded through Medicaid programs that help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities access the long-term services and supports they need to live safely and successfully in their homes and communities. These programs are designed to promote independence, community inclusion, health, and personal choice while reducing the need for institutional care.
Because Medicaid programs vary by state, Redwood partners with state agencies, managed care organizations, and local funding entities to ensure individuals receive the services they are eligible for and that supports are delivered in accordance with program requirements.
Redwood Family Care Network works closely with Medicaid agencies, managed care plans, regional centers, case managers, and other community partners to coordinate high-quality, person-centered services. Our teams help ensure supports are aligned with each individual's assessed needs, goals, and funding authorizations while maintaining compliance with state and federal requirements.

In some situations, families may choose to privately fund certain residential or support services based on their individual circumstances and needs.

The Self-Determination Program (SDP) is a voluntary alternative to the traditional Regional Center service delivery model that gives individuals and families greater choice and control over how their Regional Center funding is used. Participants receive an individualized budget and have the flexibility to select the services, supports, and providers that best meet their unique goals and preferences.
Redwood Family Care Network is proud to partner with individuals and families participating in the Self-Determination Program by providing high-quality, person-centered services tailored to each person's vision for their life. Our team works collaboratively with participants, Independent Facilitators, Financial Management Services (FMS) providers, and Regional Centers to ensure services are coordinated, responsive, and aligned with each individual's self-directed plan.
